you are a sick, sick puppy.

I managed to get "visually" and "oscilloscope" without referring to hurriedly jotted notes, but, eh. sick sick SICK. :)

I built a little RS232 transmitter, and I wasn't sure if it was sending out properly, so I put a scope on it... Held down a key, locked on the scope, then read the binary pattern off to find out what it said. Really impressed the rest of the class =)

:)

I wish I had a sillyscope at home. I tell myself I would be much cooler (I would do much cooler things) if I did. And it may even be true.

do you work on any electronic things these days? I've been trying to motivate myself back towards hardware for a while now with little effect.

I've got an OLD OLD scope lying around, but it has some problems.. The solder joints are bad enough that giving it a good smack might make the trace drift half an inch, but then again the calibration is totally arbitrary because I accidentally washed off the gridlines when I was clearing off 40 years of dust.

To be honest, I've never been much of a hardware guy, I've always been more into the coding end of things. Current career goal is to do DCS/PLC programming.
