a start?

I just applied to a local college for a secondary BS. I feel better about doing that then trying to just go for grad school in something I'm not that familiar with. and maybe after a year of undergrad, if I do really well, I can try to get into a grad program somewhere else (as I expect I'm going to be moving around then anyway...)

I hate having to plan things out a year+ in advance. horrible stuff, it is.

and now, one more letter to send out (about fractalranker, looking for some concept help) and then... read and crit two stories and then... maybe I can write my own fucking stuff for a bit. it's been so long. it really has. ugh.

that is all. :/

Yay Kaolin!!! Where'd you apply, and what subject? Anyway, HOORAY, I think this is a great idea!

SFSU. Biochemistry. thanks for the yays. this linear algebra textbook is mindnumbing. of course, I have yet to make it past the "duh" part of the text. I'm trying to be methodical so I don't skip the "ugh" parts later. If I simply don't skip anything, I'm less likely to, erm, skip anything. :)

Biochemistry is awesome. Have you talked to Eric recently? He's double majoring in biology and having all kinds of good times synthesizing or distilling organic compounds. Linear algebra is really awesome as well.. a very elegant and phenomenally useful subject! It's pretty easy, too, since everything is, well, linear. I think that LA and the Fourier Transform have been the two most useful things I've learned when it comes to doing science work. Eigenvectors, orthogonality, bases, projection, vectorspaces, principle components transform, orthonormalization... ah, good stuff! If you have any questions, feel free to ask..

I'm not entirely sure biochem is what I want, but I at least need a better bio and chem background, so it should suffice. I can specialize later. (I hope) I've chatted with him a small bit, and he does make me miss school. But just about everything makes me miss school these days.

I had two or three weeks of LA and left because I wasn't getting it and I wasn't getting a word of lecture (transfer professor for korea or something). Forgot to drop it (oops). geh.

Had fourier series a couple of times in various classes (ee 120, ee 120, ee 146); I think my calculus (or my attention span, or both) was a bit weak. Here's to trying again. I think after I make it through a LA book I'm going to try one of my 120 books again. perseverance, right?

still not happy with things. la la la.
