And I had more to say than I thought I would, so it would be good to record it for myself for later.
>Okay, it's time again: What are you all *doing*???
learning decision theory, trying to get into some sort of "school mode".
trying to decide whether to learn enterprise java beans or not.
lots of lame little projects.
making a costume for our julyoween party.
I broke a microwave apart and got two nice motors -- the fan spins totally
freely, and the thing that turns the plate generates about 140 volts. both
of these are little contraptions that use/generate AC.
I've been reading a lot... in the last month or two I read _A Brief History
of Time_, _The Secret Language of Dreams_, _The Annotated Flatland_,
_Flatterland_, _Blondie24_, and _Robot Building for Beginnners_.
On my 'immediate' list are: _Prologomena to any future Metaphysics_,
_How Children Learn the Meaning of Words_, _The Complete Astrological
Handbook for the Twenty-First Century_, _Robot Builder's Bonanza_, _Six
Easy Pieces_, _Six Not-So-Easy Pieces_, _Physics for Game Developers_,
and _Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman_. (this isn't counting: _Making Hard
Decisions_, which I'm on chapter 3 of and doing problems from.
I've been going and playing pool rather frequently in an attempt to gain
skill at it.
I went to a writers' group that gave me a lot ideas for what to do to fix
some of my old crappy stories, and to some extent gave me the impetus to
actually try such... but I haven't yet.
Today I posted a bunch of challenge entries for folks on imaginaries. I
sent an email to work asking about something to look like I'm doing stuff
there. I'm about to head up to my parents to hang out with relatives that
seem to be doing their Death Rounds.
But really, it feels like I'm never doing anything.
