Friday Flash: Letting Go

Letting Go

She tossed the words out with the kitchen trash: love had tarnished, hate had faded to a dull gray, and hope seemed more like ratty cheesecloth than the gilded kite she'd once flown her heart from. The nursing home had a limited allowance; she could let go of a few worthless words.

The first sentence is 197 characters; all told it's 282. A good fit for "Short, Fast, and Deadly" perhaps. :)

I've published a few pieces at EDF. Have three sitting with them right now, actually. Halfway to the "okay to query us" point.

Didn't know Flash Me--will check them out. SFD is good people (good person?). :)
