say YES to NO on prop 8!

Copy this sentence into your livejournal if you're in a heterosexual marriage, and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow.

Some part of me thinks there should be a link to donation intrinsic to that.

Amy tells me 8's going to lose by a wide margin. That would be wonderful. Does anyone have recent polling? Recent polling looks very, very tight.

prop 8 pisses me off to no end. i consider it an epic failure on the part of the california legislature that this even made it on the ballot. does the constitution mean anything anymore? i never thought i'd look at a ballot and see the words "eliminates the right..."!

what's next? prop KKK to remove black suffrage? it's just not something we should ever have the right to vote on in the first place. voting people's very rights away is exactly the sort of thing the constitution is supposed to prevent. and anyone who votes yes is a fucking asshole, but that's obvious.

Is there a process other than "needs x signatures" for something to go on the ballot?

i'm not sure how it all works, but i thought that something which is blatantly unconstitutional would be thrown out... at least in theory. i guess nobody cares.

i read that fundies have been MOVING to california just to vote on prop 8. i don't know how many actually did it, but it might not be such a bad thing- moving mccain voters to a state where their votes will be worthless.
