I say no effect (so far) -- it's showing what I expected, but so far not "surprised" by anything that's been said such that my position would be "cemented" (it was solid before hand, anyway).

I am disappointed by the stance on gay marriage--so long as the government _defines_ marriage, it should be considered independent of sex.

same sex marriage
Yeah, at first I thought it was great what Biden was saying about supporting rights for same sex couples. But then he backtracked and said they wouldn't "redefine marriage" and Pallin used her jedi tricks to turn it into, "Great, we agree on not supporting gay marriage!" Ha!

Re: same sex marriage
Those are some freaky mind tricks. I hope they only work in her own mind.

Well, I chose "cemented", but it really had no effect. I already knew who I wanted to vote for, but this made me... I don't know how it made me more certain, but it did.

I was watching the Canadian debate. The leaders of 5 parties all gathered around a round table; the most entertaining bit of television I've seen all year.

Maybe I should have tried that instead. I spent most of the veep debate cringing and shaking in fear and/or disgust.

There was a tendency to talk over each other, but the moderator (Steve Paiken) did a very nice job keeping them in line. You can compare 'em below (though, oddly, Duceppe was edited out for "time reasons"):

We actually watched the Palin/Biden debate (because Moggy has a perverse fascination with your politics) and I taped the Canadian one to watch later.

Very interesting to see, thanks :)

Perverse fascination with our politics--like train wrecks. And magic shows.

I love how much they actually call each other out. Feels _honest_. I like it.

Honestly, I didn't watch the debate. I was sleepin... BUT yea. I think it would have been kinda funny from what I've been reading up on it. Palin is an awesome piece of work. BWAHAHAHAAA... Announcing that you may not answer questions posed it funny shit.

Oi. My head... the pain.
