Fucking Blargh

It's been raining. Late last night a slight alarm sounded... Amy heard it first, and tracked it down to outside. Fears said septic tank pump alarm, and sho nuff it was. I fiddled with switches and didn't manage to do anything besides turn it off--which at least meant I could sleep, though Amy was cleary worried, still--neither of us had thoughts of what else we could do (or I'm sure she would have kept me at it).

This morning, she woke me up to go look at it in clear light, with less rain. Turned the control box on, and this time the alarm was proper loud, with the flashing light and everything. Fiddled with controls to even less avail, and turned it off. Called Homeowner Service Representative, faxed request form to him and to Customer Support. Now we wait--Amy's going to her parents to take a shower.

So tired. So grumpy. So... medium irish cream mocha.

And I broke a mug a few days ago. Heron was in my lap, nosing for some food on my computer desk, and I, not looking, pushing her face back, knocked the mug off and onto the floor. Kaboom. Got one ceramic splinter in my finger that hurts more now than it did then (I was hoping it was just a spot of dried blood, did my best to well it out--no luck. My right index finger. Right where I type.)

So tired. So grumpy.

Oh, and I didn't get Poser 6. Bid closed while I was asleep and someone took it up to $160. My honest max was $120. I'm sure I can buy it academic, if it comes to that.

Anyone have a copy they're no longer using!? :)

heh. very good. i mean about the mocha, not about the tired and grumpy. good thing the rents live closeby for such emergencies. have you heard back yet when they are coming? (also good to have someone on call who handles suchlike.)

Oh septic tank problems... Such a wonderful side effect of weeks of rain. :-/ I hope it's nothing too serious/expensive/nasty-smelling.

Get some rest and some coffee. I think Heron was trying to teach you a lesson about relaxing and paying attention to cats instead of working. :-)

Re: sounds like a poor start for the day
Thanks. Really, all I'm hoping is it doesn't get worse. :) Like expensive repairs or something.
