The next cover?

It appears I did this one out of order, so I've got some reading to do--but I'm fairly proud of it.

I made all the textures myself (from photo references), made the room, made the glass (bezier curves), figure is creative commons and drawn over in photoshop, and the red thing--that's, er, supposed to be a fan. I took a prop I found and altered it significantly.

Blender, photoshop, wacom tablet, the usual. This and the last thoughts comic I did were both done (drawing-wise) with middling opacity on the brush. I'm liking the feel that gives, though I've got a long ways to go to refine it. Here it's perhaps too subtle. On the thoughts comic it's perhaps much too not.

hmm. veddy nice, k.....but, but, but,..i want more figurative interest... i want to know what is going on in that room. a hand, a shadow, no, wait, the light is wrong for a shadow...but i want to more be able to tell what is happening.

again, though, very nice room.

Agreed, on all counts. :)

But I don't think they're going to happen this time through. I needed to zoom out to make the window framing not screw with the header/footer, and... well... with most people seeing the cover at 100 pixels wide, it almost doesn't matter at all.

Still, learning and inventing new tricks with blender == happiness.

need to still make clothes and make my own inverse-kinematic (poseable) figures.

tempting to share my brick wall and broken window with the world, though.

You're learning rapidly to do a variety of things. I realized just now that that's a figure to the left and must be meant to be Channadar. Overall, I like the feel to this one. There's a desire to step into that room and poke around.

It's not, but it's a good illusion =)

My original sketch had half a dozen guards, a desk, ... which was out of my skill range, but luckily I also realized it was just far too busy for something that was going to be squeezed into 100 to 150 pixels. :)
