I just wrote a story. Hmm.

It was for the imaginaries challenge of the (week/month/timeslice)...

I'm not happy with the writing style in the second half and will probably try to clean it up a lot later -- I was kinda delirious by the end, it took about nine hours to write with a couple short breaks here and there.

my writing is definitely getting more verbose, and I'm not sure what to think of that. [This is the second story I've written now topping 4000 words, Little Red being the other] Three years ago, my aim was to eventually be able to write a longer short story; then I was barely able to break a thousand words. If I keep up at this rate, I'll be writing novellas soon. I think I need to stop where I am and start concentrating on quality for a while. Practice, practice, practice. ;)

I'm really close (relatively speaking) to sitting down and writing _Hunting of the Snark_. Very nervous about it. First, I think I'm going to try to go back to my older stories and see if I can salvage anything from them. I'd like to think the ideas weren't so horrible that they can't be written well (at least, for the ones that weren't just stream-of-consciousness).

  • a day in the life of lives...

I know this isn't Facebook, so I shouldn't post a link and run. So, umm. The link: Michael Lewis profiles Barack Obama. It's a day-in-the-life, but…
