heaven on earth? at work!?

I have an office. A fishbowl office. I'm still moving into it, and it needs all sorts of cleaning and other craziness. Hoever... in this move, I've managed to upgrade a second monitor doing 1024x768@65Hz to a second and a third monitor each doing 1280x1024@75Hz. Though maybe I'll bump ... yeah. okay, second and third monitor are now doing 1280x960@85Hz. Primary monitor stayed the same at 1792x1344@75Hz. But that's directly in front of me, so I don't need to worry about flicker so much. I am the PRODUCTIVITY KING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

one scren for all of my chats, and random junk. one screen for lots of terminal sessions. one screen for web browser and/or photoshop. and/or word. and/or excel. which might get swapped over the chats. Hmm.

Yeah, I could use more.

I want a monitor per application. That would ROCK!

so that's why nerds in movies have multiple moniters...
I always thought it was a stereotype movie character flaw thing.

Guess not, eh? XP

IT ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And, for instance, I could be monitoring several computers with the monitors, with apps up on each of them. It does happen--before I would have to minimize them if I wanted to switch, but now--voila!

VNC, Remote Desktop, or something proprietary? I'm sure he's not forwarding X, being a Microsoft guy...

Best educated guess: VNC

Which window manager do you use?

/me looks around somewhat embarassedly--that's with Windows TM.

I've used fwvm and a few other managers that allowed for paging through different "windows", but overall they didn't work so well for me. A slight boost in productivity, but not close to having it all right in front of me.

I traditionally use Fluxbox, as it keeps out of my way nicely. I'm going to get an LCD monitor soon, was thinking of keeping the CRT as a second monitor.

Hmm. Fluxbox looks pretty. :)

I _heartily_ recommend using a second monitor.

Or third.

I think four would start to lose me, unless I could stack it _over_ the middle monitor.
