2016, fenris + phoenix

Yuwie Blogger Idol, week 1... spare a vote? :)

The topic I wrote on (on GUD's behalf) was "A Perfect World", which, admittedly, was a pitch for GUD, but hopefully also somewhat edutational. There's links to each of the entries if you want to be honest about it. ;) Some interesting reading.

The other topics were "Glass on the Edge" and "Mom-in-law's Cooking", which pound for pound (what does an electron weigh? No, don't ask, yes, I can tell you. ;) ) were better fodder for "funny".

Anyway, if you're looking for distraction, there's a good bit of it there. :)

image resizing along "energy countours"

This is just amazing stuff. SIGGRAPH for the win. :)

"Seam carving for content-aware image resizing"

And what's awesome is while it's a brilliant idea... it's also relatively simple to implement, or at least straight-forward... there's probably an infinite amount of "art" to it as well, but...

If you have ANY interest in photography, you really have to watch this:

Thanks to indomitability for pointing this out to me. :)

And... here's a prototype: Liquid Resize

And an online demo: Seam Carving Demo

And some GPL'd source: Smart Image Resizing
