My foot hurts

It was run over by a car.

What most people don't appreciate, I think (including myself), is the amount of friction a tire has. It looks like it's just calmly rolling along, la de da, but really that rubber is thrusting back against the pavement, shoving the vehicle forward.

The ball of my foot is starting to hurt. The top of it was burning immediately--no hair torn off, but small amounts of skin. Actually, several of the joints are starting to hurt, now--nearly an hour later.

Such is life.

This is the third time I've been run over by a vehicle--the second I've had a foot run over. The first time my foot was run over was towards the end of highschool, walking home from school. No damage whatsoever was done.

I must be getting old. :/

I'm starting to get excited about movies. You know, the big blockbuster ones everyone gets excited about. I've also got a list a mile long on skwerms of movies I want to see. Hanging out with Amy's dad helps some--he lives for movies, and has an extensive collection; and watches them, constantly. Constantly, ish.

Anyway, the point of this.

Just saw the Batman Begins trailer. Oh Em Eff Gee. It's really "making sense". Less "spandex superhero", more "dark knight graphic novel".

Chronicles of Narnia (Episode 1--I wonder if they hope to do all of the books...) also looks like it's going to be wonderful, if not necessarily fulfilling. I intend to (re?) read the books, as I'm not sure if I ever read them, or just had them read to me pre-consciousness.

Mirrormask, of course, is a must see. Must Eff You See Kay Eye Enn Gee See.

Revenge of the Sith--read a bunch of spoilers and have actually really started looking forward to two scenes in particular. Dark. Apparently ties in well with the mood of The New Hope.

HHGTG--stupid, not stupid; not going to see it in the theater, sadly, but I know I will see it eventually. I hope I don't dislike it as much as some.

Hmm. The next Harry Potter--I missed reading one of the books, don't know how much I care, ... But the movie looks pretty. I definitely like the mood they've got going.

Crap. I know there's a number of movies I've seen mentioned recently (within the last six months) that aren't on this list, that I really wanted to see (that aren't out yet, so hopefully I'll hear about them again)...

yet another bio blurb

I've been asked to host a q&a at Backspace, following in the footsteps as such luminaries of officialgaiman. Pretty Cool.

Kaolin Fire was born to dreams of the digital world. He entered machine code from a magazine long before he knew the word 'checksum', and marveled at how the computer knew he had typed something incorrectly. A modem scrounged at a flea market introduced him to the concept of a social network, and changed the way he looked at games; it introduced him to his first software development kit, though he'd been programming with some seriousness for several years. His college years saw him learning more from the burgeoning dotcom world, and he's been running with it since--starting with html and perl, learning a bit of msql, quickly jumping to java/jsp with postgresql, dabbling with mysql and php and slowly becoming a css journeyman and mentor. He has been doing web development professionally since 1995, both in salaried positions and as a contractor.

Oh, yeah. I'm talking about webdev and such. He was talking about writing/publishing/etc. As a guest, I got to see the q&a, and it was pretty cool, even though I already follow his syndicated feed (obviously). They have quite a log of folks.
