"Thank you for "Testing, Testing." We're happy to report that it is scheduled to appear in issue 152 of Bewildering Stories (June 13)."

It's not F&SF. It's not paid. It's not print. But hell, the story was just rotting on my shelves, as it were.

I've finally gotten off my ass and started shotgunning stories--mostly flash pieces that I've been writing more recently, but a little bit of everything if I think it will find a decent home.

Sent 25 things out over the past four days. Three rejections and an acceptance so far.

You Rock
My new personal hero. Go, you!

I need to write more. When I get that done, then the next challenge will be submitting them. Wooh.

Re: You Rock
Thanks. :)

Hoping I don't later regret this publication.

I've got two previous pieces I somewhat regret publishing. Both due to the quality of the pieces and due to the quality of the publications.

Who knows.

My biggest stumbling block at the moment is revision--I really ought to be revising/rewriting pieces before I send them out. And that's worse than pulling teeth (well, sort of). But regardless, it doesn't wind up happening. Or something.

Thanks. :)

And write, you. And submit.

Wow, that was fast. Excellent news, K! Congratulations!

Hey congratulations man, that's great news! I don't think you should worry too much about regrets. You just have to let them go. I can't imagine that I'll ever look back on something I've done and feel as good about it as I did when I first did it. I think as one evolves as a writer the tendancy is to hold everything one's written to the current standards. I think instead it's best to try to remember the feeling it gave you at the time you wrote it. Ah, just my two cents. Yeah, I use a lot of words for two cents. Anyway, that's great news.

Thanks. :) Some sense well spent, I think.

Onwards, and, er, onwards.

Congrats on the acceptance :)

KICK ASS K!!! YOU rock! I notice you failed to mention this during our chopped up half conversation earlier this week...(or was it last week...) bleh, I'm insane right now and can't remember.

Right on for sending stuff out! My goal is to send six items out before June 1 - but I'm terrified. *chews nails* I've been crawling around on scrawl looking for markets...but have only found one I think I have a remote shot at. I know you are slammed balls deep into work right now, but if you have time in the next five days, drop me a line...I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE (did I say LOVE?) to use your editing skeels.

rrrrrrrrrrrrrrediting? :)

http://alethe.net/~k/the_list.xls <-- places to send things that are literary-esque (not my compilation)

pick out one or two favorites for editing and I'll figure something out, though the response will probably be minimal :/

;) ok or at least your well founded opinion on the slop I plan to sling like monkey shit all over the net?
May. 26th, 2005 12:17 am (UTC)
You're pushing it with well-founded, but I can do opinion. :)
