My foot hurts

It was run over by a car.

What most people don't appreciate, I think (including myself), is the amount of friction a tire has. It looks like it's just calmly rolling along, la de da, but really that rubber is thrusting back against the pavement, shoving the vehicle forward.

The ball of my foot is starting to hurt. The top of it was burning immediately--no hair torn off, but small amounts of skin. Actually, several of the joints are starting to hurt, now--nearly an hour later.

Such is life.

This is the third time I've been run over by a vehicle--the second I've had a foot run over. The first time my foot was run over was towards the end of highschool, walking home from school. No damage whatsoever was done.

I must be getting old. :/

Hmph. Always wanted to be a fortune teller?

No permanent damage, though. Never've broken a bone, except maybe a hairline fracture in a pinky I dropped my motorcycle on. That hurt for about a year...

It's really a minor thing. Walking around a little funny. Another amusing anecdote.

But yeah, it would be most excellent if good things started to happen.

Found out my favorite drill no longer has an off switch (unusual mechanism; I maybe can take it apart to fix it). And I've spent close to three hours trying to put up window blinds with no luck--screws are too short, no hold for the plaster.

Nearly broke my computer yesterday by plugging in some cat5 cable--the network card wasn't properly seated; froze the machine, and couldn't power it down with the button--kept restarting itself. Finally pulled the plug, let it cool down, reseated the card, and it came back to life with no apparent loss beyond the billion things I was working on.

All that said, though, life is still pretty comfortable. I am lucky.

...not interested in seeing a doc about the foot? Isn't it ungood to be run over?

not _so_ ungood as of yet.

Hopefully it will stop hurting soon. :)

Only You
Anybody else would have a mashed foot, with assorted broken bones, and be in the emergency room now.

Only you.

Unbreakable, yo. ;)

But don't get me near water.

Semi-seriously.

Managed to forget about it on and off after about four hours. Just a hint of soreness now. :)

That's good to hear.

Uh, maybe you should avoid standing (walking, running) near cars for a while.

For some reason, I've never gotten hit by a car. It's wierd. And until last september, I'd never crashed a car. Until I crashed mine thrice.

you have a syndrome
Ok, you must have a syndrome. Why would one person play the speed bump 3 times in their life? The odds of that are pretty astronomical.

What would you call such a syndrome? speedbumpidys? bumpanoia? road kill envy...

Geez

BTW, do you get nine lives like most other felines? If so, which are you on?

Re: you have a syndrome
uh, ok, I have to admit that I've played the part twice in my lifetime. So I guess I'm not all that far off the #3 record. Ok, maybe I have road kill envy cause up till now I was neck and neck with you on the number of times I've been run over. Hmmm.... maybe I have a syndrome.

:HEH:

Hmm.

Too tired for a witty response.

That's a shame.

Well, too tired for a good one. I typed a few things, and, embarassed, erased them.

My ride to work is twisty and beautiful, when I take my bike.

Oh, man.
