I never use sidebars, but I hadn't gotten around to turning it off with this new version of mozilla. it popped up when I made a search. and I pokred at "what's related" and it gives a 'traffic rank' and 'contact info'.

I can't help but think those traffic stats have to be pretty bogus, for obvious reasons. What are they based on? Frequency that the site shows up in search results?

Nah.. They are believable.

I can believe them, atleast.

- Pretty neat thing to look at... I'm like.. typing in every website I know to figure out there popularity... if they even make it on the list.

Well, they have to be bogus, because they don't have access to the data necessary to make non-bogus measurements of site popularity.

All they have to go by is the results generated by and use of their own search engine, which isn't even a popular search engine to begin with.

actually not their search engine but their toolbar plugin, which is windows IE only.

They actually flat out say how unlikely their stats are to mean anything, "especially for any ranking over 100,000".

but it's interesting to see the niftiness that "spyware" can be used for.

Well... Wouldn't it be cool if they could gather all information from everywhere known as possible...
and put it all into one huge database thingymobob and have something similar to that alexa thing?

That would be cool. Really cool. =P XD
