Sent in seven poems (their recommended maximum) and a short story I'd really dearly like to see placed somewhere. (Unicorn Hunt, if you've read it). I think it might not be "now" enough for them, but who knows? We'll see what their turn-around is like. :) Also sent them a comic query, because they don't mention them on their guidelines. Went to document this in the flatfile that I keep all submission-related-notices in and found to my horror that I can't find it. Anywhere. Admittedly, I haven't looked at it in a few months, but you'd think it would be kind enough not to simply disintigrate into random electrons. I know exactly where I keep it, and it's not there, which tells me I must have accidentally cleaned it up at some point. But. !? Holy shit. No, now that I think about it, I _JUST_ clobbered it. Oh, wow. Oh, wow, that totally sucks. It happened to be named 'submissions', and I just made a directory named submissions, moved a file to that directory (but missed it by one), and clobbered the other. Yes. Shit. So... to backups... which are probably a lot older than even a few months ago, for that particular file. oy oy oy! =(
Definitely a reason to put all that into a database.
Time to write my own black-hole list, I suppose. Consider this a solicitation for ideas. Just sent an email to Matt Hayes of SGI asking about a possible db-tie-in, because that's been on the back of my mind with this whole thing for a while now (also ABurt's blackhole list, and ralan's, and... crap, there's a place that's a whole lot more db-looking, but I can't remember it, can't find it). Just because I hate to duplicate information when I can avoid it. But. La.
Need to submit to more places, but I need to go track down what I currently have "out", now. Fwhee. I can't believe I just did that to myself.
