current grocery list:

Four hours sitting in various rooms waiting to get wounds scrubbed. They did xrays reasonably quickly, and handed those to me to take down to a doctor, but they didn't get looked at for some time.

they gave me a 'scrip for vicodin, but I plan on not filling it.

trying to stay home and rest, today. hard to rest with 1/5 of the skinmissing from my right knee, and it bruised to boot. (three large superficial knee wounds). then I've got each of my right toes bandaged, the left bit of my right ankle, left side of my right heel... missing. (again, all superficial wounds).

left and right elbows are bruised and scabbed. left foot has various injuries that don't hurt. and my glasses opened a third eye. we'll see how that goes.

Thankfully, my horribly swollen and oddly-feeling left pinky is not broken. I've actually still never broken a bone. Strange body. And the upper ribcage pains apparently didn't mean anything (and have since gone away), as well with the strange neck (adam's apple) pain.

Owie owie owie owie! I know how it feels to have a large chunk of skin missing...I had half the skin lopped off the bottom of my foot by a doctor once, and boy did that sting. Especially when I had to soak it in epsom salts.

eurgh; I'd rather not think about that right now, thanks. ;) :/ what was that for?

I *should* be soaking these, but they've just (about 24 hours after the accident, and 17 hours after the hospital visit) started to be tolerable to the point where I could... work on a story or drawing or something.

Oops, I am suck. I forgot to reply :P.

A foot specialist cut off a good chunk of skin on the bottom of my foot because the skin was all bubbling up and going hyper. The dr. didn't know what it was (turns out it was dishydrosis, a form of eczema that only happens on the bottoms of feet and palms of the hands, it was triggered by an allergic reaction to the glue on elastoplast fabric bandaids - from my own scientific figurings later on), so he decided to just cut it all off, since there was lots of pressure buildup and pain. So, underneath was all nice fresh red skin. Tender skin. Owie. But I could walk on it with less pain almost immediately afterwards...there was less pain with no skin there than when I had bubbly crazy skin. Scary thought, no?

Mincemeat! Those look painful. What were the twin chp's doing? just directing traffic?

How's the bike after all that?

I once got a similar 3rd eye, except mine was from ramming a tuba bell into my head!

just directing. they were fairly friendly. came in two separate cars. another one stopped by in another car and helped them direct. and then a motorcycle cop stopped by, and he actually helped get the bike running and gave me an honor guard to his favorite bike shop (just off the freeway). Where... my bike currently is. $65 for an estimate, plus 'storage' fees once the estimate is made. still waiting to hear back from them...

muh. did the tuba take a chunk, or just slice/bruise? I'm missing a tiny bit (I guess it's on the inside of my helpet somewhere, or dropped out). curious to see how it scars. hope it's not too bad. makes it hard to have a full facial expression at the moment. :)

Honor guard???

All in all, about how long did it take for them to clear the whole scene? Did you get a lot of rubbernecking?

A sousaphone (marching tuba) has a removeable bell. So there the part that opens up, and then there's the narrow section that actually connects to the part that you play. The narrow part isn't rounded off and is like a very dull brass knife. I was visually inspecting it once when someone knocked it at me and the knife-ish part cut in and took out a little slice. I was marching a parade up in Calgary, Alberta at the time, and it was pouring rain.... and the uniform was blood red... so the blood just washed from my eyes to the uniform and no one really noticed... until after the show :) I definitely noticed. Still have the scar; it was in the summer of '98.

oh, wait... honor gaurd = police escort/caravan?
