Earth is not the center of the universe; but it is a center. It is where we come from. And intelligence, which is not ours though we claim it. Like gravity, awareness leaks unseen. Some meta-awareness calls it heaven, imagines we are souls born from this other place. It seeds, patiently, over millennia. Our cancers are aware, fight for control, but our bodies are not ready. Testing, further evolution. They will break through and become us. Live us. And when our universe nears its end, they/we will step through to the next.

I did a flash collab with a friend ("Piecework Re-Imagining of the Sea" with Deborah Rosenblum), and entered into the Fantasy "10 sentences" micro-contest. We made the editors-selected shortlist, and now it's up to the readers--I'd really appreciate any help you could muster over there voting for me (or against me, I know how you folks can be ;) ). 10 pieces are posted. You can vote for up to three. Top three have the option of being published by Podcastle as well.

Holiday season is always bad for me. This year it was a good bad, but still I'm hiding, trying to catch up with everything that got dropped with other wants/desires/obligations.

This is a note that my story "Altered" went up on EDF today.

And while I'm at it--Falling Up is now available at the App Store (FREE!) (for 2nd gen iPhone and _I think_ 2nd gen iPod touch -- OS 2.2 required).

And if you only played Ice-9 the first time I posted it here, the graphics and gameplay are improved, I think.

Life is good. It could be better, though. Working on it. ;)

Stalled out on the "really simple flash game" I wanted to develop. Designer just got back in touch with me about it, but I'm not feeling it.

So, er, I went a different direction. Came up with a different game that's a lot less simple, but possibly easier _for me_.

Ideas have been bombarding me for a day or two. I want to do something with machine learning. With maze autogen. And, er, ... maybe I have it figured out. But I spent the last five or six hours just getting the beginning of the framework together (and by that, I mean everything works except "start game" ;) )

And apparently I don't have an ljicon for programming... strange. Maybe I consider that my default? I do have some for specific programming projects, but... eh. Right, then.

HandBrewed ... "says" - mouseover the logo to start playing. No instructions, really, but you're expected to recognize the game. That seems to be in style with simple flash games, anyway. :)
