prime words

I hearby declare a "prime word": a word that is not made up of any subwords (in the manner of the 'Emmett Williams' word finder). That knocks out most of the english language since anything with an i or an a are out. So ... prime words are a rarity. And finite since the english language is finite.

You can define a word's factorization as the number of prime words it is made up of.

I think I am _not_ going to write a prime word generator right now. But I did squeeze two more orders of magnitude out of my 'Emmett Williams' generator. You can now render the results of up to ten letters!

Rewrote it in c++ (used some vectors for a few sloppy bits outside the main work functions). :D

"Out" is, then, a prime word. So, of course, are "the" and "of" and "are" and "an" (but not "and". ;)

:D :D :D

Well, "are" and "an" both have "a". Which I need to tell my dictionary about, huh? ;) I'll add that in right quicklike. And "the" has "he".

"are" also had "re", but I vote that's not a real word, so I just took it out of the dictionary. ;)

Hrm, point. That's leave me "out" and "of". And "or", "on," "less", "ell" (or I would have said "sell") ... and you are horrible for turning my brain onto this. Wyrm!

I like your poem at the start page, with kaolinfire. Your name works well in that.

My name surprisingly does better than I thought:

pence
pen
spe c
s e e
en
s e er
pe er
p er

:) Can you massage them into a poem that has some sort of grammar?

The longer words are easier with more to choose from. Almost necessary to have an i and an a, I think.

Your dictionary doesn't have the word "welt" (Put in "swelter"), it should come up, but doesn't. :)

ok ok. :)

There's lots it doesn't have just because ... there were too many it did have that I didn't recognize as words, so had to find a middle ground. ;) And I think my middle ground was even more awkward.

I think you had too much time on your hands recently. ;)

One could get that impression from this. I think closer to the truth is I _made_ too much time on my hands recently. It wasn't really a had issue...

but PRIME WORDS. That's not even a wikipedia entry yet!
