look both ways before crossing the sky

What should this icon represent? :)

((did two for mitre_box and he liked the other one better [[as did zzinnia, who I showed both to]] ))

And I rather like this super-stylized one better. so there. ;) :)

The peregrine falcon, the chosen bird of kings in the time of the Egyptian pharaohs.

...What? I keep thinking I'll start my book again soon. But it really does look like the stylized bird icons for hieroglyphs and temple representations of gods.

I was actually drawing on a hieroglyph for a significant part of the inspiration here. Fighting convention by having the feet face both ways instead of one, and, well, attempting to base it on raven beak/head/feathers/proportions. And attempting a certain 'kaolin' styling as well.

the colors and the space are quite nice in this one.

there is an un-balance in ny thinking re: the tail/legs thing i mentioned, uzzwize it'd be me fave.
